Doug is the founder of World Business Lenders. An entrepreneur in his own right, he has over 25 years of business-building and financial services industry experience focused on the development, structuring, trading, hedging and distribution of financial products on the retail and secondary markets. As Managing Director and Global Head of Residential Lending and Trading with Deutsche Bank, Doug successfully executed and managed business activities on five continents, including high-profile transactions in the United States, Colombia and Saudi Arabia. Prior to this role, Doug served as the Chairman and CEO of MortgageIT, which he founded in 1999, led through a successful IPO on the NYSE placing it among the 10 largest mortgage banks in the United States, and sold to Deutsche Bank in 2007. Doug also founded and served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IPI Skyscraper, which became the largest mortgage broker in the Northeastern U.S. before its private sale.
Gary has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Gary was Managing Director and Head of Deutsche Bank’s Mortgage Origination for the Americas. Previously, Gary served as President of MortgageIT. Under Gary’s tenure at Mortgage IT, the company was able to achieve 14 consecutive quarters of industry record growth.
Kerry is a 20 year veteran in the financial services industry with extensive experience in sales production, business development, and process management. Most recently, from 2006 to 2010, in his role as Director at Deutsche Bank, Kerry was a senior executive and part of the team responsible for all U.S. based lending initiatives for the Bank and facilitated the financing of Fortune 500 real estate portfolios. Prior to working at Deutsche Bank, Kerry was Director of Production at MortgageIT Inc., from 1999 to 2006, where he was responsible for the retail lending initiative that contributed to MortgageIT's successful IPO.
Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer
Donald has over 30 years of experience in senior financial positions in both the mortgage and commercial banking industries which include Bank of America and Wells Fargo Bank. Donald was previously Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at MortgageIT Holdings, Inc., a publicly listed REIT. Don was instrumental in launching MortgageIT’s initial public offering in 2004. Prior to this role, Don spent 20 years in public and private accounting at Price Waterhouse, Wells Fargo Bank, and Bank of America.
Managing Director and Chief Revenue Officer
Alex is a 30 year finance industry veteran and entrepreneur with experience in capital placement, debt structuring, and real estate. Between 2007 and 2011, Alex was Managing Director and the Head of Deutsche Bank’s real estate finance, mortgage origination, trading and warehouse lending businesses in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Prior to joining WBL, Alex founded Greenstone Equity Partners, a MENA-focused boutique investment and advisory firm specializing in, advisory, fund placement, and investments.
Andy has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and, in 2011, became one of the founding members of World Business Lenders. During 2007, Andy joined Deutsche Bank, at the time of its merger with MortgageIT. He served as General Counsel of MortgageIT from 2005 until mid-2008, at which time he became responsible for various business development initiatives in Emerging Markets. Prior to joining MortgageIT, Andy spent ten years at GreenPoint Financial Corp. as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel; six years at the law firm of Cullen and Dykman, where he led the employee benefits practice; and four years at Arthur Andersen & Co., the public accounting firm, where he was a Tax Manager.
Robert, a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney, has more than 25 years of global experience in commercial/consumer lending and banking. Most recently, Robert served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of a de novo mortgage bank established, in consultation with Deutsche Bank, in Bogota, Colombia. Previously, he was a Project Manager and Consultant at Deutsche Bank, providing operations expertise to the Global Markets LATAM group in New York, and contract finance and asset management units in both New York and Florida. Prior roles include Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of OceanFirst Bank, a publicly traded community bank, and 13 years as President and Chief Operating Officer of Columbia Equities, Ltd., a regional mortgage banking company sold to OceanFirst Bank in 2000. Robert has served on the Advisory Boards of the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac).
Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer
Tom joins the company from United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) where he was First Vice President of Finance. Prior to UNFCU, Wills served as Senior Vice President and Controller at Amalgamated Bank, and as First Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Emigrant Bank. He also managed audit teams at both KPMG and Ernst & Young. Wills, a Certified Public Accountant, holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
Director and Deputy General Counsel
Elaine is the Company’s Deputy General Counsel. She brings over 20 years of corporate and banking law experience. Prior to joining the Company, Elaine was a Director & In-house Counsel with The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ for over 10 years, supporting the bank’s U.S. Corporate Banking Group. Elaine started her career as a corporate associate with the New York law firm Parker Chapin, now Troutman Sanders.
Director, Information Technology
Matt, most recently served as Chief Technology Officer of Quantx Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to Quantx, Moline was Senior Director at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers and Manager of Information Systems at Autism Speaks. Moline holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Philosophy from Columbia University and a MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
Director and Senior Investment Officer
Cem joined WBL at the beginning of 2012 after having completed his graduate degree from Columbia University. He assisted in the infrastructural development of the company in the Finance and Operations areas and currently manages the Credit Department responsible for Portfolio Analytics and Loan Underwriting.
Director and Treasurer
Eliot joined WBL in 2013 after a 20-year career in financial services and investment banking. Prior to joining WBL, he was an owner of a boutique investment banking firm that specialized in short-term bridge financing, real estate investment, complex structured debt transactions, esoteric asset securitization, and the analysis and capitalization of frequent-payment loan portfolios. Prior to that Mr. Pratt was a managing director of a New York boutique investment banking firm that specialized in real estate finance, M&A advisory and merchant banking where he was instrumental in the completion of some $400 million of commercial real estate transactions and numerous M&A or capital raise assignments for small companies. He is a 1994 graduate of Harvard University.
